Middletown, Del., September 23, 2010 – Summit Aviation of Greenwich AeroGroup, announced today it has received AS9100 Aerospace Quality Standard System Certification at its Somerset, Ky., facility.

“This certification demonstrates our commitment to meet or exceed the increasingly stringent industry requirements as a world-class supplier,” said President of Summit Aviation Robert Fitzpatrick. “This certification will standardize our quality processes across many of our programs to ensure process and service safety, reliability and quality.”

AS9100 addresses the diversity and complexity of the industry’s supply chain and takes into consideration the complete life cycle of aerospace products. Summit’s Middletown, DE facility has been AS9100 certified since 2007, and recently has undergone a re-certification audit.

Fitzpatrick added that the increased requirements of AS9100, which builds on ISO 9001:2000 elements, will benefit all of Summit Aviation’s customers, because the standard focuses on critical areas important to all industries such as supply chain management and inventory control.
